A trip to Fisherman's Wharf

I have been a good dog and the other day I accompanied Ma, Pops and Pa to Fisherman's Wharf where they visited Barnes and Noble.
I usually get to go inside of B/N but since Ma and Pops were having lunch at Starbucks, I had to wait outside. I admit, I was a bit stressed. Nevertheless, the guard and most of the patrons stopped to greet me which always makes me feel good. They love me at B/N. The guard really keeps an eye on me as does my Ma. Apparently, dog thieves are a real concern.
I did catch sight of Pops looking out the window.

It was a welcome break from the rain.

Feeling a little down

I have been a very good dog but El Nino has really put a damper on my playing activities. No romping with friends since none of them seem to be around because of the rain. So, Ma is posting this picture of me from a few weeks back when I rolled around in the sand at Ft. Funston. I feel about as good as I look in that picture - bedraggled.
Here's hoping for better weather!

Frolic in the rain

This morning, I was a good boy and Ma and Pa decided to take me on a walk to Sutro Hts Park. The rain was coming at us sideways because of the wind. I have been reluctant to go outside - I don't like getting all wet - it feels like taking a bath, and I resent the fact that I have to go potty outside when the humans get to do it in the warmth and comfort of home.
Ma in her rain gear. Doesn't she look goofy??

I love to play tug-of-war although, apparently, that's what bad dogs do.

I found a new toy.

I frolicked in the rain. All in all, I had fun, again.

Crows and other birds that drive me crazy

I have, as alwaysl, been a very good boy and kept Pops company in Japantown yesterday where he had a haircut and a nice lunch with my Ma. I was not invited to lunch. However, after they ate, I got to sit pretty with Pops and look like a service dog.

Today, in the morning, we went for our usual walk where we encountered a hummingbird. That's me pointing it out to my Ma.
They're quite small and it's unclear what they eat around here. I bet they would be bigger if they ate what I get, even though it's never enough for me (hint, hint).

My Ma made me sit and lie down so she could take my picture. See, I can stay down in public! I can even wait for my treat.

Darn - I should have eaten that damn treat before I jumped off the wall. Now look whose got it! It was quite upsetting causing me to bark furiously. They ignored me. Quoth me, NEVERMORE! Watch it, you thieves - I am not a soft-mouthed retriever.

Why I roll in the mud

Mama treats me like a POODLE sometimes. What's with that goofy head ornament I'm forced to wear.

Therefore, when I go outside, I have to roll in the dirt and grass -- those silly humans need to learn that I'm an Airedale, not a frou frou Poodle.
Anyway, Haupia and I put up with a lot indoors so when we go out, we let it RIP.

Ha, ha -- but I guess the joke's on me. Yes, I look a littl nonplussed. Once again, I've been bathed. This time with henna shampoo, thus the red highlights. Isn't this illegal? I thought there was a law passed that prohibited hair/fur coloring of dogs. Oh, and you'll note the owie on my nose. I took a good hit from an hornery hound at Crissy field a few weeks back. Gives me character, don't you think?

I'm turning into a science experiment

Well, I guess I shouldn't alarm you all since I'm not being used in any experiments but my Ma has produced a graph of my weight gain. Very nerdy of her.

What do you think? Will I get to 90 lbs????

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all!

I have been a good boy this year, ha ha, even though, as you know, I'm NEVER bad and the year is only a few days old. Anyway, it's a great start to a new year, wouldn't you say? To start off the year, I got to go somewhere new - Mt. Tamalpais - with my Ma and Pa. Ma and I hiked while Pa went off running.
I have to keep looking back lest Ma go off and hide. As you know, she's been doing that a lot these days. Quite disconcerting since I could get lost in here.
This was a major obstacle course for me.

I got good at climbing over these fallen trees. I also got smarter - I try to go under or around if possible since it's a real strain to get over the big ones.

It was a great 2 hr hike. I hope we can go there again.
