Baby me

As you can see, I always had long legs!
And, take a close look at those PAWS! Clearly meant for digging.
Modeling is in my genes! I knew how to say cheese from the day I was born.
That's me and Billie, the Schnauzer I play with sometimes. She was Stan's buddy too.
And -- here's a butt shot of us. I'd say, there's room for growth...how about more din din, Ma?

Professional Excavator Seeking Job - will work for fun

Today, I was a good boy and I dug the biggest hole EVER! Big enough to hide in. Well, OK. Big enough for my new friend to hide in. He's about my size -- 10 months ago!

Start of hole.
I met Satchel at Ft. Funston today. He's some kind of Boston Terrier mix.
Unfortunately, because of pictures like these, Ma won't be upping my calories. She's says it's important to have a waist. Waste??? I produce tons of it. What's she talking about???
Progress!
I really prefer to dig these myself!
But, I'm willing to share the fruits of mylabor!
Yes, he's in there somewhere!
I just built him a little home! I'd say it's better than those Igloo kennels.
I'm really good at this. Isn't there a job out there for ME??

Skinnybutt no more!

I have been a very good boy and have gained some weight in the last month. I guess my bowel distress affected my digestion back in February so I'm catching up. I now weigh in at a hefty 65.3 lbs which is more than half the weight of my Ma. Ha!! No wonder I can pull her around on the end of the leash when I want to. I might be ready to take on those coyotes, too!
Now, the question is, will I be 90 pounds?

Nice Airedale for sale - recently washed

Just kidding. Today, I was a good boy and I, AGAIN, rolled in that dead whale. This time I paid for it good - I not only got hosed down but was shampooed as well, leading to these pictures of me. Don't I look like a dog for sale?

I am ONE!!

Today I was a good boy and it is my birthday! Ma kept it low key although she now regrets it since it was a beautiful day. I got the best present EVER - a two hour walk in the morning! AND, with Lucca!! Actually, we didn't really walk for the whole two hours as you will see. Ma and Lucca's Ma like to chit chat so, like the good companions we are, we just hung out for a while.

Me and Lucca greeting each other. He's lost some weight around his fanny.
We sat around in our little forest enjoying a stick together. It's kind of like you humans hanging out in a cafe.
We're BFF!!
We walked to the car at the Legion of Honor but today, there were no coyotes. Which, in Ma's view, is good. In the evening, I got to play with our neighbor, Sunny. He's a big blonde retriever and we share a fence. We went to Ft. Miley with his Pa and human sibling.

So, this caps my first year of life on earth. I've enjoyed every minute of it. I've made the best doggie friends and I've got the best first and forever family and friends.

Beautiful morning at OB

I have been a very good boy and today we went to Land's End hoping to see Lucca and her Ma. Unfortunately, they were needed at home to keep watch over workmen so Ma and I headed to OB instead.

Me looking out for Lucca.

We ran into Keto the Husky - I think I remember playing with her before on OB. I stole someone's flappy toy and ran around the beach flaunting it.

Then, someone threw a stick, which looked interesting so I stole that too.

Sometime after this, I found part of a dead whale in the sand. The stench was irresistible so I rolled in it. Ah -- I love the sweet smell of rotting whale in the morning. When I got home, I was unceremoniously hosed down with cold water from a garden hose in the middle of the sidewalk followed by a thorough rubbing with lavender from the bush in front of our house. ! Isn't this illegal? Shouldn't someone issue a ticket to my Ma???? Seems far more egregious than parking with wheels turned the wrong way which is something people are getting ticketed for on our street.

Escargot!

Crunchy on the outside, soft inside!

Yesterday, I was a good boy and was rewarded for all of my good behavior. I snarfled around in the wet soil after two days of rain and found a nice snack! Pa was a bit concerned when he found out what I had eaten, but Ma assured him that it was harmless. After all, the French consider them delicacies.

All in all, it started out a dull day other than the nice snack since Ma was busy and didn't take me on a long walk. However, dinner was simple and fast and the sun sets kind of late now - around 7:45 pm, so Ma took me on a quick jaunt to Ocean Beach. We played ball, saw some woofers and caught the sunset - red sky at night, sailors delight, as they say.

And, today is starting out to be a nice day -- I got to play with Lucca! His family was on a holiday to Santa Fe so we haven't seen them in a while.

Lucca looking for me in our little forest playground at Land's End.

Saturday excursion to Crissy Field

I have been a good boy and yesterday I got to go on a trip to Crissy Field. Really, this is just a way for Pa to appease his guilty conscience - he went shopping at Sports Basement, leaving Ma and me to walk the beach. So, poor Ma didn't get to shop but that's OK. She got to spend it with me. What could be better?

It was a beautiful afternoon with many nice dogs.

Not being able to swim is very frustrating! Ma!! When are you going to teach me?
I found a goldendoodle digging so I decided to help. Hard to tell which is the front end of that dog!
She soon decided to let me take over -- as you know, I am quite the expert at digging.
Although, I have to give it to her - she dug quite the hole by herself, especially given she's not a terrier.
So, that was my excitement for the weekend. Today, it's been raining since dawn and I'm kind of fussy about getting wet so we're staying in.

Ocean Beach fun!

Do I still have a skinny butt?

I have been a good boy and the weather has been quite beautiful lately. So, Ma has been taking me on a different walk in the morning to Ocean Beach. No more Mrs Coyote -kind of a good thing since she really gets me going and Ma won't let me off the leash anymore near the golf course.

I found a new friend that likes to run.

We play stick on the beach. For some reason, she likes to chase me when she also has a stick. I've also played with a Rhodesian Ridgeback and a Wirehaired Vishla. All in all, it has been great and walking distance from home, too.

Happy bunny day!

Of course, I've never seen a bunny but I bet those coyotes and owls like them for a midnight snack. Today, I was a good boy although there is some debate as to whether I was very good yesterday. I thought I was doing a good job by being a good guard dog - I couldn't help barking my head off at that horse, even though we were supposed to be having a nice lunch at the Pelican Inn at Muir Beach. I couldn't help barking at that kid who kept making faces at me but would stop as soon as she thought her Ma was looking. It's not my fault her Ma and her pals gave us dirty looks. I couldn't help eating those nice herbs planted next to the lawn (I think they were chervil)-- you know I eat my veggies and salad. Hrrrummph. Oh well. We made a hasty exit.

Me and Lex chilling in the garage.
So, today, Ma planned for us to meet my old buddy Haupia who we haven't seen in a while. We also ran into Vincent, his baby, and his nice retriever, Dixon. I gave his baby a big wet lick in the face. He liked it. We ran around the lawn at Ft. Miley and tore it up good.

Due to my sudden growth spurt, I don't corner very well.

When we got home, horror of all horrors - I was bathed, AGAIN. Oh well. The weather turned nasty so we'll be hanging around the house anyway.

Happy hour at the Park Chalet

I have been a very good boy, as you know, and Thursday was a grand day for me. I started out playing with Lucca at Land's End. Then the four of us walked to the golf course which is our usual route. On the way there we encountered Mrs. Wiley (we presume) which was made doubly exciting since it was Lucca and Rami's first encounter. We barked furiously and she scampered up the embankment into the woods, although not before staring us down. Whew! That was a close call. She was just ahead of us on the trail. After dropping off Lucca and Rami, we looped through the golf course, and guess what. Mama Coyote reappeared, taunting me again. It's infuriating but Ma was happy to get some nice shots of her.
She's very coyote looking in this photo, wouldn't you say?
After napping for most of the rest of the day, I was awoken to accompany my humans to the Park Chalet for a nice little snack and drinks for happy hour. I love this place! We can walk there AND doggies are welcome. My only complaint is that they won't serve me any beer.

Pa looking happy with his pint of California Kind.
I need an ID so that I can order my own. But then again, I'm either almost 1 human year which is not even 7 dog years - I guess that won't help. By the way, I'm 25" at the withers which puts my nose right at table level.
Watching for friends - this place sits right on the west end of Golden Gate Park, across from the windmill.
And, capping off a wonderful day, we took the long way home via Ocean Beach. It was wicked windy and the kite surfers were out in force.
I got to run free and chase the endangered sandpipers. They're the best - when startled, they fly off out to sea, loop back to shore and fly parallel to the beach.
